We spend all the day at Grand Canyon, which largely deserves it. It is my third visit, Marie's second, and we still find it as beautiful as ever.

Tuesday, September 8, 2015 : Antelope Canyon, from Page to Grand Canyon


Quite stubborn, we go back to Horseshoe Bend for more pictures. Of course, it is no longer sunset time, but who cares ? It's still as beautiful. I'll show you the pictures after we return to Europe, when I have time to write a longer article.

Monday, September 7, 2015 : Lake Powell, Rainbow Bridge, Horseshoe Bend


We spend most of the day on Lake Powell to visit Rainbow Bridge, a natural arch about 3 hours away by boat from Page. The stunningly beautiful landscapes around the lake are enough to keep us busy.

Friday, September 4, 2015 : Westwater Canyon, rafting on Colorado River


One more time, we have to get up early. Our appointment for a rafting trip on Colorado River is at 7am. Westwater Canyon is one of its most spectacular stretches, while remaining accessible to properly supervised rookie rafters.

Thursday, September 3, 2015 : Hovenweep, Dead Horse Point, Arches, Moab


We leave Mesa Verde for Hovenweep, another pre-columbian site. What we did not know is that most points of interest are only accessible with ATVs or other adapted vehicles. Being kind of unadventurous with our rental Camaro, we give up.

Wednesday, September 2, 2015 : Mesa Verde National Park

 

We are spending all day visiting Mesa Verde National Park.

 

This park, a designated World Heritage Site, counts awesome natural sites, as well as Pueblo dwellings enclosed in the cliffs, dating back from the 13th century.

Tuesday, September 1, 2015 : Durango & Silverton railroad, ATV, Mesa Verde


This day is fully dedicated to the Durango & Silverton Railroad, a tourist attraction directly inherited from a former mining railway.

Monday, August 31, 2015 : Durango


Yesterday, we saw most of Great Sand Dunes National Park, we are not going back today. We take the road to Durango, a rather short stretch of 170 miles.
