Saturday, August 29, 2015 : Fort Sumner, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Taos

A little short on time, we give up visiting the Billy the Kid Museum, and we leave for Albuquerque. Our Camaro's trunk is jammed and we need help.

In Albuquerque, we only see the airport and the Thrifty garage.

Sandia Mountains, Albuquerque, NM

View from the Sandia Mountains

A few miles outside Albuquerque, we climb to the summit of the Sandia Mountains, which was our true objective. Unfortunately, this afternoon the sky is a little misty, and the light less than excellent for pictures. Too bad, the view from the summit is superb and the vegetation very rich. A real success, in fact.

Later in the afternoon, we arrive in Santa Fe. The historical center is well preserved and very interesting. But the real impression is that of an upscale city, long on art galleries and shops, but shorter on authenticity.

Then we hit the road again to Taos. Our balloon flight is confirmed and we are going to bed early.

Tomorrow, we will get up at 5am.
