Tuesday, June 11, 2013 : From Washington to Philadelphia

This morning, the weather is much better than yesterday, even if the flashflood alerts are only gradually lifted. We drive back to Washington and snap a few more White House pictures, this time under a decent sunshine.

Then we hit the Interstate to Philadelphia.

Philadelphia, Independence Hall

The city of Philadelphia is very rich in history. Independence was proclaimed here, on a 4th of July. The Constitution was also written here.

Benjamin Franklin and his printing press

Benjamin Franklin is pervasive in the city, not unlike Paul Revere in Boston, or George Washington in Mount Vernon. There is his library, his printing press, the church where he worshipped, and his tomb.

For history lovers, Philadelphia really deserves significant time.
