Friday, May 31, 2013 : From Bangor to Plymouth

After a last picture of our hotel, we leave Bangor en route to Plymouth, New Hampshire. We have plenty of time, we may stop wherever we wish.

Lake Winnipesaukee

We drive all the way around Lake Winnipesaukee, an ancient glacial lake. It is gorgeous, with many tony country homes on its shores.

Flume Gorge, Franconia Notch State Park

We pass Plymouth and visit the Flume Gorge, a very narrow gorge with several cascades. It is stunning and, considering the searing heat, the moisture is welcome.

In Plymouth, our hotel is quite simple, but clean and freshy refurbished.

Tomorrow, I will tell you about the White Mountains.
